The show stars Manilyn Reynes,Joshua Pineda Carmina Villaroel and Michael V. in the title role whose "simple and underprivileged life significantly changes when he becomes the lone winner of P700 million in the national lottery". It has been dubbed as a reality-sitcom.[1] Though it is almost impossible to get P700M on a single lotto ticket, it actually happened on Nov. 29, 2010--a winner took home P741.1 M, which is more than Pepito's P700M.
The first season started on March 28, 2010 which focused on showcasing the adventures of the Pepito Manaloto and his family who are all still quite unaccustomed to the life of luxury and excess that they now have to enjoy after winning PhP700 Million from the lottery.
On November 21, 2010, GMA Network announced that the show has been renewed for the second season which followed Pepito Manaloto buying the business of the del Valle's because it had financial problems, towards the end of the season, Elsa (played by Manilyn Reynes in the show) got pregnant.[2]
The show was in its third season from July 2011 to November 27, 2011. The show's focus in its third season was the Manaloto's life after Elsa has given birth.
The show started its new season, its fourth season, on December 4, 2011. The show will now focus on the Manalotos' lives after 5 years, with Chito growing up as well as previously baby Clarissa, their new home and new characters that will be introduced as the series goes.
The series will be released onto DVD-format by GMA Records. The DVDs will be in volumes, there will be succeeding volumes as the show progresses.[3]
